dbuggirl Posted November 17, 2015 ID:1002201 Share Posted November 17, 2015 I am wanting to know if Chameleon can be uninstalled and then re-enstalled. The Chameleon that I have hasn't been working properly since the last time I used it. Also, can Chameleon become corrupted by Trojans?
Firefox Posted November 17, 2015 ID:1002217 Share Posted November 17, 2015 Hello and Welcome! Chameleon is included with the latest version of Malwarebytes, you can perform a clean re-install of Malwarebytes as mentioned below and you will get a fresh copy of it. You may also download Chameleon as a stand alone tool from the main site HERE Let's try this first....Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2xIf that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)NOTE: More info about v2.2.0 HERE; User Guide ONLINE; User Guide PDF; FAQ: Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions Please let us know how it goes. dbuggirl Posted November 20, 2015 Author ID:1002717 Share Posted November 20, 2015 My Chameleon has given me an Error Report: 20026. It can no longer access the Anti-Rootkit part of the scan and aborts prematurely. Can you help me with resolving this issue?
daledoc1 Posted November 20, 2015 ID:1002724 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Hello: OOPS!It looks as if you have duplicate posts for the same problem? Please see @Firefox's reply to your other post HERE. OTOH, one does not normally need to run Chameleon unless one is heavily infected and MBAM will not otherwise run. So, if you think you think you might be infected, then you might wish to obtain a bit of free, expert help.Such work on possible malware issues is conducted in a special forum area reserved for that purpose, or at the help desk. So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers. It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue - the helper will guide you through scanning, cleanup and repair. The helper can also assist with getting MBAM up and running. Thanks, P.S. The forum staff may combine this thread with your previous one, to reduce clutter and confusion. No worries, though.
