MBAR wasn't working

Thanks for letting us know you resolved your issue.
 
For the record, MBAR BETA is a powerful tool and a BETA tool.
It's really not intended for routine, unguided use.
(And much of the functionality is already incorporated into the anti-rootkit scanning of MBAM.)
 
If you think you might be infected, you might want to get a bit of free, expert help checking the system for malware.
I suggest that you might want to please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.
A malware analyst will assist you with scanning, cleanup and repair, as needed.
