Skype and svchost.exe popups

Recommended Posts

Hey support, I have been using malwarebytes for the last month or so and have been getting these random popups saying inbound skype and svchost "malicious website blocked" etc. I have Avast internet Security and Malwarebytes for my protection and they both come up clean when I run a scan. Is there something on my PC that has compromised my security? Can you please help me out with this issue? Thanks

Hello and :welcome: :

IP blocks while using Skype are to be expected, as explained here: Why does Malwarebytes Anti-Malware block Skype?

However, "svchost.exe" is a Windows file that is often patched by malware.
It's not normal to see IP blocks from that process, especially if they are outbound and if they happen when no browsers are open.

Under the circumstances, it might be a good idea to get some expert help checking the system for malware.

Such work is conducted in a special forum area reserved for that purpose, or at the help desk.

So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you might want to please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.
A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue.

Thanks,
