MBAE and Cryptowall 4.0

Most of the ransomware infections we're seeing are being delivered via exploits. In these cases the attack would be stopped by MBAE before it was able to download the ransomware.

In the cases where ransomware is pushed via non-exploit methods (i.e. social engineering) then MBAM has 2 layers of additional protection:

* Real-time protection can detect the new CryptoWall 4.0

* If the real-time protection misses the infection for whatever reason, the MBAM Malicious Website Blocker will prevent CryptoWall from reaching its Command & Control Servers, effectively preventing the encryption of your files.

With these 3 layers of protection (MBAE, MBAM + Website Blocker) I'd say you're pretty safe.
