Am I Infected?

Here's my story. I was browsing a website when Windows Defender gave me a "malware detected" warning. I closed the browser and went into Windows Defender and found these entries:

Backdoor:php/Phpspy.A

Backdoor:php/ShellC

Defender seemed to remove the malware. I emailed the support for the site I was on and they said their site was clean. Like a dummy I went back and got dinged again. I went into Windows Defender to remove the malware and waited but got no acknowledgement that anything had been done.

I then went into Event Vier's Windows Defender Entry and found that it said for the first malware detection that it had been detected, quarantined and removed. On the second episode it said Defender had "encountered a critical error when taking action on malware or other potentially unwanted software."

I've run multiple scans with Windows Defender and Malwarebytes and neither show anything.

I also went into the Registry on the off chance that I might find something and found this looking up the term "backdoor":

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.com/search?q=backdoor&form=WNSGPH&qs=SW&cvid=f00d432d402e42bd9ac199cf8dc2be06&pq=backdoor&nclid=62E5421F75A437EF86CB002E8F0BB429&ts=1446310205356&nclidts=1446310205&tsms=356

The OpensWithList below it says it opens with firefox.exe. Is there anything legitiment in Windows that uses the term backdoor?

I have a second computer and did the same search in registry and got nothing back.

I also ran HiJackThis but don't know how to interpert the log. Can someone help me? Do I need to nike my whole installation ans start over? Do I need to wipe my storage drives?

Thanks in advance!

The registry entry is not malicious, DrWeb remove one suspicious file. Logs indicate a clean system... Unless you suspect problems we clean up..

Download "Delfix by Xplode" and save it to your desktop.

Or use the following if first link is down:

"Delfix link mirror"

Double Click to start the program. If you are using Vista or higher, please right-click and choose run as administrator

Make Sure the following items are checked:

  •
  • Remove disinfection tools

  • Purge System Restore <--- this will remove all previous and possibly exploited restore points, a new point relative to system status at present will be created.

  • Reset system settings

Now click on "Run" and wait patiently until the tool has completed.

The tool will create a log when it has completed. We don't need you to post this.

Any remnant files/logs from tools we have used can be deleted…
