Time Change on MWAM Scheduler

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

 How does Mwam handle changes to changes in time?....I am on PST and our time changed at 2.00AM in our zone...(back one hour}

I had everything scheduled the way I wanted and all was fine, but now it shows one thing in the dashboard settings and another in my automated scheduling...(a difference in 1 hour)

How can I rectify this and get them so both settings are back in sync.....

XP SP3......MWAM Premium

Hi:

This is a known issue -- the scheduler does not adjust for DST.

AFAIK it was not a problem in version 1.75, but it appeared some time ago in version 2.x.

The developers are aware and AFAIK it's on the list of items to be fixed with a future version.

My workaround is to remove the scheduled scan task and to create a new one twice a year, when DST starts/ends.

(However, one could probably just "edit" the existing task.)

Cheers,

P.S. My main security application (KIS) makes the DST/Standard Time transitions without a hiccup.  The issue for me is limited to MBAM.

Hi:

When you create the new scheduled scan task, be sure to check ALL of the settings for the task, including the starting date.

ALSO: the "default" for a "new" scheduled scan task is HOURLY (!!!) -- for some crazy reason the devs have yet to fix. :o

So, be sure to change that from the dropdown menu to DAILY (the recommended scheduled scan frequency).

And don't forget to check the "Advanced" settings for the task, as well, such as anti-rootkit, auto-quarantine, etc..

Please let us know if you need more help with that.

Thanks,
