Hi,

I apologize; I'm sleep-deprived and on a deadline, so I'm not thinking clearly. Please remind me what details I omit.

Launching Firefox, my computer does not see the internet.

Launching IE, it just closes, no error message.

I pinged 8.8.8.8 and it returned correctly, so the computer DOES see internet, but the traffic is impeded.

Trying to launch mbam.exe gets the 0xe06d7363 error code. (AVG cannot update, and didn't find a virus.)

Running Windows 7, 64-bit. Ran FRST, logs attached. Please advise what to try next. Thanks!

On the issue of internet access / connectivity, have you tried doing some tests in Safe Mode with Networking ?

Just tests there to see if you can have better luck with a browser, Internet Explorer or other.

The Advanced Boot Options screen lets you start Windows in advanced troubleshooting modes. You can access the menu by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key ...

NOTE:  That mode is only for temporary use.  Not for permanent use.

On another issue altogether.  I see the antivirus resident is AVG AntiVirus Free Edition 2015.   What other antivirus apps had been installed before this ?

I do notice some Lavasoft drivers in the windows winsock stack.

WHEN was AVG installed ?   and did you fully uninstall the prior antivirus _ before _ installing AVG ?

Hi,

So, when your response was posted, I had invested 12 days researching the problem and finally dropped it off with a well-recommended virus guy. When I picked the machine up 4 days later, he said, "Oh, by the way, I remove your AV software and installed Avast. A bunch of the system files were corrupted. Call me with questions."

I get home, hook it up. HE UPGRADED MY OS FROM WIN7 TO WIN10 WITHOUT ASKING/TELLING ME.

Needless to say, go ahead and close this post. I am now fixing the computer up. I have no idea what the problem was or how it was fixed, other than by upgrading (waaaay before the customer was ready) to Win10.
