Unable to access internet after running Malwarebytes

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a computer that appeared to have a lot of malware issues.  After running Malwarebytes, which appears to have cleared up most of them, I'm unable to connect to the internet.  I've run FRST and attached the FRST.txt and Addtion.txt here.  I'm hoping you can help me get internet access back on that PC.

Thanks.

Download attached fixlist.txt file (end of reply) and save it to the Desktop, or the folder you saved FRST into.
NOTE. It's important that both FRST and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

Run FRST and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt) or the folder it was ran from. Please post it to your reply.

Next,

Run FRST one more time, ensure all boxes are checkmarked under "Whitelist" but only Addition.txt under "Optional scan" Select scan, when done post the two logs....

Post those logs...

Thanks Kevin.  I started running the FRST Fix using the Fixlist.txt that you provided at about 4pm CT on Sunday, and it still says it's running, which has me thinking that it's hung.  It's says it's deleting files from C:\Windows\Temp, which is what it said last night at about 9pm too.  It's consuming 40-50% CPU according to Task Manager, though, so I'm not sure.  Should I let it continue to run, or kill it and try again?

The system is still not fixed, we need to look for replacement files... Also Chrome and Firefox are both exploited, try not to use those browsers if possible..

Run FRST one more time:

Type the following in the edit box after "Search:".

dnsapi.dll

Click Search button and post the log (Search.txt) it makes to your reply.

I've run KVRT, and there were some results, but I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know how to post them for you.  I couldn't find a log in the folder I ran KVRT from, and I can't cut and paste.  Most of the results are from the Adwcleaner or FRST quarantine folders, but there are a few others.

Top righthand corner of the program interface there should be a tab named "Reports" when that is selected you should find the log listed as a .txt file...

If you`ve opened the file left click and hold that button down to the left of the first letter in the text field, drag accross to the extreme right, still holding down the button drag down to the right of the last letter in the text field, then release the butto.

All of the text should now be highlighted. Either right click into the field then select "copy" or as an alternative select Ctrl key and C keys together. Either of those actions copies the text to the clipboard...

Into the text field in your reply either Right click, select paste (if you used the first option to copy) or click any where into the text field, then select Ctrl and V keys together if you used the second option....

Irrespective of the the kaspersky log, what is the current status of the system, do you have any remaining issues or concerns.... One last diagnostic scan to have look at an overview your system:

Run FRST one more time, ensure all boxes are checkmarked under "Whitelist" but only Addition.txt under "Optional scan" Select scan, when done post the two logs....

Thank you,

PS.  Thank you for the donation, very much appreciated...
