New Version 2.2.0.1024 Crashing

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have noticed that since the latest upgrade to the above version a few days ago on my Windows 8.1 machine, after I try to run any scans usually a few minutes after it begins processing Malwarebytes will crash. I never had this before the upgrade and have done no major Windows installation or other program installations since the MBAM upgrade the other day.

Have there been any other reports of issues with crashing in the new version?

Hello thexboxflash:

Please begin here:

  • Please try the following and let us know if this corrects your issue: MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x.
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and individually attach the 3 requested logs in a reply to this thread: Diagnostic Logs.
  • The 3 files, from Step 2, to be individually attached from your desktop are: CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt. Please do not Copy and Paste them into a reply.

Please let us know the status of your issue in a reply to this thread.

Thank You.

1PW:

I too have experienced Malwarebytes AntiMalware (Premium) crashing several times since the Malwarebytes Windows 10 update was issued during a database update.  That same day my Malwarebytes crashed 3 times, as it has each day since.

My details:

Dell laptop

Windows 8.1 when purchased

'Upgraded' to free ver of Windows 10 in August (might have beee early Sept?)

Windows Defender running concurrently with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware home Premium and Anti-Exploit Premium

Shall I try the 3 steps you outlined to thexboxflash?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, @hopper15:

Malwarebyes has also been crashing on me the last few days .

I did a complete uninstall &reinstall and no luck so far.

This thread is starting to get crowded. :(

Each computer is unique.

Problems that sound "the same" often are not.

We could better assist you in your own, separate thread. :)

Each computer is unique. :)

The fact that both computers are 8.1 with the same error doesn't necessarily mean that the underlying problem is the same.

I suggest that you please read the following pinned topic and save the 3 requested logs to your desktop:  Diagnostic Logs .

Then, please ATTACH all 3 logs to a new, separate forum post, so that we can better assist you.

Thanks again,

Thanks for the info. I did the clean removal process and am still seeing the crashing when running the initial scan after the re-install.

I ran the logs as requested, but noticed that they contain some highly personal information. Is there a way to provide them so that they are not posted for everyone to see?
