Annoying Ads everywhere

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm getting ads everywhere on every browser (except for google chrome where I´ve installed some adblockers), on every website I visit, on Steam Client, on LOL Client... (take a look at the attached pics). I have anti-virus software (Mcafee) and I've got MalwareBytes Anti-malware and I've even used a lot of malware removal tools, and I still cannot get rid of the problem.

:(

Can you help me analyze my Hijackthis log?

Hello Joana,

MVPS.org is no longer recommending SpyBot S&D due to very poor testing results (scroll down and read under Freeware Antispyware Products).

Also some of the default settings may interfere with tools and actions we try to use... To remove do the following:

  • Press the WindowsKey.png + R on your keyboard at the same time. Type appwiz.cpl and click OK.
  • Search for SpyBot, right-click the entry and click Uninstall.

Next,

Download DNS jumper from here:

]

Save to Desktop of sick PC, tool is portable no installation needed..

Instructions for the tool here:

]

Run the tool, from the main interface select dropdown arrow under "Choose a DNS server" from the list either select Google DNS or Open DNS,

Now select "Apply DNS"

Re-boot your computer.

Next,

Run FRST one more time, ensure all boxes are checkmarked under "Whitelist" but only Addition.txt under "Optional scan" Select scan, when done post the two logs....

Thanks,

Kevin...

Thanks for the logs Joana, continue as follows:

Download attached fixlist.txt file (end of reply) and save it to the Desktop, or the folder you saved FRST into.
NOTE. It's important that both FRST and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

Run FRST and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt) or the folder it was ran from. Please post it to your reply.

There were no reports from Kaspersky... I did everything you asked and also checked if I was still getting those ads... the problem appears to be gone, although I´m not sure. Is there anything else I can do?

Thank you so much for your help.

Hello Joana,

if the issue is cleared we can clean up to complete...

Download "Delfix by Xplode" and save it to your desktop.

Or use the following if first link is down:

"Delfix link mirror"

Double Click to start the program. If you are using Vista or higher, please right-click and choose run as administrator

Make Sure the following items are checked:

  •
  • Remove disinfection tools

  • Purge System Restore <--- this will remove all previous and possibly exploited restore points, a new point relative to system status at present will be created.

  • Reset system settings

Now click on "Run" and wait patiently until the tool has completed.

The tool will create a log when it has completed. We don't need you to post this.

Any remnant files/logs from tools we have used can be deleted…
