Kendrel Posted October 6, 2015 ID:994005 Share Posted October 6, 2015 Good day everyone. When I open Steam, an ad pops out. I have tried scanning with Malwarebytes, installed anti-exploit, scanned with spybot, but nothing helps. I even formatted my PC but the ads keep popping up. This only happens on Steam, browsing from Chrome doesn't give any ads. I'm attaching the Farbar Recovery Scan tool reports, along with an screenshot of the issue. Please help. Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop: Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool. (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).Press the Fix button just once and wait.If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run. When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.Please upload it to your reply.fixlist.txt

TwinHeadedEagle Posted October 9, 2015 ID:994414 Share Posted October 9, 2015 Can you try to reset your router to factory settings?
Kendrel Posted October 9, 2015 Author ID:994557 Share Posted October 9, 2015 Router has been resetted. It seems that fixed the issue, I was clicking through the Steam store and no ads appeared, It was going good, but the ads appeared again after some time. I closed them, the Malwarebytes messages appeared saying they blocked them, as before, and the ads haven't appeared again. Now I'm not sure if that really fixed it or not. Kendrel Posted October 10, 2015 Author ID:994599 Share Posted October 10, 2015 Hello again. Well, the ads appear again. What is odd is that they appear once and they don't show up again, only If I close Steam for 20-30 minutes and re-open it, the ads reappear too.And the same situation happens, Malwarebytes blocks them and I close the ads, which don't appear again until I close and open Steam after a while. Kendrel Posted October 10, 2015 Author ID:994683 Share Posted October 10, 2015 Cache has been cleared, but now I am unable to make any purchase (screen just goes blank) and sometimes the Store lags a lot (If I want to return to the main Store screen from anywhere, it takes ages to load, this happens on links from the Store main page, too). No ads have appeared, though.
Kendrel Posted October 10, 2015 Author ID:994705 Share Posted October 10, 2015 No wait, it's working again. Maybe it was some Steam outage or something. It's going smooth as it should be, I'll keep checking and let you know if any ads appear, but so far I've seen none.
