Can I stick with vers 1.75?

I know there are new versions out, but I prefer the ease of use, and the better interface of vers 1.75.  Is it any less secure to use it, provided defenitions are kept up to date?  I know what MAWB will tell me, of course they want me to buy the new version.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is known as MBAM. { MAWB ?    }

 

v1.75 is still good for maybe another year.  However, there are detection constructs in the new v2.x Kernel that are not present in the v1.75 Kernel.

Yes, it absolutely is far less secure. Since the release of version 2.0 we have implemented a vast number of changes and significant improvements to the engine of the scanner and all components of realtime protection which are not backwards compatible with 1.75. There are also a great many new features and improvements that go beyond detection and removal including greater control over many aspects of the program's functions, especially in, though not limited to, the paid version.

As others have stated, if you have a lifetime license for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then you may upgrade to the latest version for free and continue to use all of the paid enhancements and features that come with a paid license. We decided to grandfather in our existing lifetime users when we changed over to a subscription based licensing model so that our promise of lifetime updates and software upgrades would be kept so you will lose nothing if you upgrade and will gain significant improvements in the level of functionality and protection provided by the software.
