ERROR: You must be connected to internet to activate

Hi, I'm running MBAM ver 2.1.8.1057, Windows 7 Professional SP1, 64 bit.

 

I've purchased premium license and already got my ID and key.

I want to activate my license but always get this error: You must be connected to internet to activate.

 

There's definitely nothing wrong with my internet connection. I'm using a proxy and I've set the IP in Update Settings. I also have AVG antivirus installed, but I've temporarily disabled it. I tried restarting my PC, but still no luck.

 

Any suggestion on how to solve this?

PS: I tried to run the software tool http://tools.malwarebytes.org/traceroute_malwarebytes_cdn.exe(got the link from another thread), but it said the version is not compatible.

Hello and Welcome..

Something to check, as some with this issue corrected it by making sure your time and date is correct on your computer.

We would need more info on the system....

Please read the following and in your next reply ATTACH the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs

(the three files should be CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt)

Also, I've checked the date in my computer. It's all good, showing current date.

What is your default browser?  Try setting IE to default to see if it helps.

 

I also see your using a Proxy server, try removing those settings only from MBAM and see if it helps.

Ha, that solved the problem. I switched to no proxy setting, and was able to activate my license.

In the future, do I need to continue using no proxy setting or can I use proxy again to update virus database? Since I mostly use my PC at work and must use proxy for internet.

Glad you were able to activate your Malwarebytes.

If I am not mistaken, Malwarebytes will use the setting for your proxy server that you have listed in IE so you probably will be OK leaving the one from MBAM off. You can try putting them back and see if it will update. If it does not then leave them off.
