Feature requests

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Firstly I wanna say that I like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware very much, also because it's not so bloated like other anti-virus soft.

But I have also some feature requests, which could/should be added in future version of Anti-Malware.

Features I miss in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware v2.x:

- Ability to edit web exclusion items in the list (right-click on the item in the list -> "Edit" possibility),
- Ability to add virus/trojans by name to ecxlusion list (e.g. RiskWare.Tool.CK),
- Ability to add web domains and also files automatically after pop-up shows up to web/file exclusion list (add some button in the pop-up saying e.g. "Add to exclusion list")

Just wondering why these things not already integrated, hehe. Missing these functions sometimes. Especially the third point, always adding stuff manually to the exclusion list (not that worst, but a little bit annoying, you know?).

I hope it's okay that I post feature requests in this forum area, but if you could add these three points in the future version of Anti-Malware I would be very pleased. Thanks!

Greetings

  • 2 weeks later...

Any news about my feature request, will they be integrated in the new version?

I wrote to support and they told me that it's already possible to add files/websites automatically to exclusion list with a right-click on the malwarebytes systray icon but this is so complicated.

But it's more easier to just adding some button in the pop-up window instead of right-clicking this systray button everytime (like i wrote in my first post)! :)

Hi rusher--

Thank you for your suggestions!

As Support stated we now only offer the ability to add a web exclusion by right-clicking on the tray icon after a detection since we had too much feedback that allowing exclusions straight from the notification was confusing for most users.  A simple right-click on the tray icon now shows the address with a "click to add to exclusions" entry, so we still feel this is a quick option (rather than manually entering the IP or Domain every time).

Your first suggestion to be able to right-click on a file or folder and Exclude from detection is a good one, and we've got that on the list for consideration in a future release.   :)

I'm not sure about the other one though--ability to exclude threats by name.  This seems like it could have some potential security implications, which is why we prefer you add the specific file(s) or folders to exclusions.  There may be special cases where you may want a specific "threat" excluded, but this is not something the majority of our users do.

Hello and thanks for the reply! :)

What? It's just better than right-clicking the tray icon and makes more sense like every other AV offers this "function" (directly add file/virus to exclusion list via button in notification window). :)

Nice to hear. :)

Ok, I agree. Some AV developer offers this option... But not that worst. :)
