Wow!

That might be close to a record.

Assuming you are comfortable with all of the detections being removed....

Please be sure to give MBAM plenty of time to complete the removal, as it may take a long while.

It would be a good idea NOT to use the computer for other activities during that time.

And it may ask for a reboot to complete the removal process.

Thank you,

... Or any other Antivirus? You can't assume the Antivirus is at fault here, chances are the user might be as well.

Bet 80% of those items would not have received even a second look by ANY AV. That is why MBAM exists and why the premium version is important especally combined with MBAE.

Hey,

I was cleaning a relatives computer today and this was the final product, moments before the scan completed.

I was shocked to see the number haha. This did include a scan for PUP's.

Thank you for removing all those nasties Malwarebytes :)!

Did you have rootkit scanning on? Did it find any?

Probably wouldnt hurt to run Adwcleaner, Hitman Pro and JRT afterward.

Malwarebytes isnt an antivirus. It is much better to have MBAE and MBAM premium with something like Windows Defender than some bloated junk antivirus.

That is my preferred setup with Defender on 8/10. I don't advertise it on forums because of the crucifixion I have received in the past.

Hey if Pbust says its a good setup, who cares what other people say lol? Ive been recommending that setup for a while. Short of Bromium or Fire Eye i think its about the best in that combination.

On the topic of cleaning out peoples computers, last night i helped my friend speed up and clean out his ancient potato of a desktop. His dad had installed IObit malware on it because he thought it protected him lol.

After cleaning that trash i used MBAM, Adwcleaner, JRT, HMP, Autoruns and Process Explorer to fix the rest of the issues.

Now it boots up way faster and actually works.
