Resource usage issues

Recommended Posts

I am experiencing the same problem with high utilisations of memory and CPU resources. Shortly after upgrading to Windows 10 from 7 my license became invalid even though it was recently renewed in June. Got that issue resolved and began to notice that "mbam" was running high on memory and CPU for quite some time after logging in Windows 10. Disk usage is ~90%-100% and CPU is 60+% for a good ~4- 8 minutes before stabilising on an AMD quad-core system with 16GB DRAM. After stabilising Windows10 Task Manager->Processes reports 3  Malwarebytes Antimalware (32 bit) processes running concurently with one process uses ~240MB, one uses ~24MB and anothe rone uses ~3MB.

All that after a complete removal of Malwarebytes Anti-malware programme (mbam-clean-2.1.1.1001) and re-installation. Running under a fresh "MBAM" the problem persists.

Hi, and :welcome: , Saturn:

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Each computer is unique.

Problems that sound "the same" most often are not.

The same is true for solutions.

They most often need to be individualized.

It is less confusing for everyone if we try to stick to "one user per topic".

Please start a NEW, SEPARATE topic using the cjfj.png button. (where we can help you in your own topic)

The staff and experts will be able to more easily provide both you and the OP with individual help to get you both up and running.

Thanks for your patience and understanding,

Firefox

  • 6 months later...

I too am having this same issue but, after buying both Anti-Malware and Anti-Exploit.  I'm finding my programs running slowly and this morning my browser froze.  After restarting I noticed in task manager that Anti-Malware is using twice the memory of Kaspersky even though no scan is running:

MAM 23.6mb

MAM 169.7mb
MAM 3.6mb

also, Anti-Exploit is running 3 task; but a smaller memory load:

MAE 2.4mb

MAE .6mb
MAE 2.6mb

Kaspersky 1.8mb
Kaspersky 44.1mb

is there anyway to reduce the amount of resources Anti-Malware is using?
