Fixing the girlfriend's computer

Recommended Posts

My g/f has an HP desktop and it had recently become very slow and sluggish to the point where it was almost impossible to get anything done.  So I took some action and started the basic clean up processes I know.  Uninstalled useless applications and programs that were taking up space or no longer needed.  Ran defrag which surprisingly the computer said there were 0 fragmented files.  And did a disk cleanup on the C:/ drive.  I ran the malware bytes software and seen even more significant improvement, but it is still a bit sluggish.  Could be malware which is why I'm running Farbar, but if it is something else, I'm also trying to locate the forum where I can run my HijackThis! and post that log.  I think they may deal more with viruses and stuff which could be her issue.  Thank you for your help.

FW: McAfee Firewall (Enabled) {E2A40FF5-9AB1-3894-DE05-F89EB212F22D}

Please permanently disable Windows Defender, you have McAfee running and having two anti-virus programs running on a system only causes poor performance, conflicts and spotty protection.
