"Unable to Access Data Server"

Recommended Posts

This morning, Monday, August 10, 2015, I went to my Malwarebytes "Dashboard" to "Update Now", but I get a very quick "Unable to Access Data Server".

It says that my system is fully protected, but next to the Database Version, a yellow dot appears instead of a green dot and the words "v2015.08.09.01" and "Update Now >>" is show.

I am in the process of a full scan at three hours, and forty-three minutes and counting un the scan file system.

I am a newbie

This is my first issue with "Premium 2.1.8.1057".

I don't know what else to tell or show you, but if you ask, I will try and find the information.

Sorry for the delay. How are things going now? Do you still need help with this?

Hi.  Thank you for your response.  Yes, I still can't seem to update.   It says that I "...don't have an internet connection..." sometimes, but I am on the internet now.   I guess that why it says, "Unable to Access Data Server".

It still says that am protected, but at the same time it says that I need to update.

I am a computer newbie, too.

Thank you in advance.  Ray

Thank you again and I apologize for being a simpleton about this computer issue.   When I get off work this weekend I will follow your "Diagnostic Logs" link and try to respond.

Thank you very much for your help.

Respectfully, Ray

Hello and Welcome to Malwarebytes

Until Ron returns (of course he may choose to help you here, but only staff can do that here), your logs show that there's work to be done on this computer that will require help from the experts, or at least in a different section of the forum.

You have more than one Antivirus programs running (MSE and AVG). This can cause issues. Also you have programs running in compatibility mode, one which is Malwarebytes. This does cause problems with Malwarebytes. Those have to be removed. This is just to name a few. Please follow the instructions below to get one on one help to resolve your issues.

We are not permitted to work on possible malware-related issues here in this section of the forum.

Such work is conducted in a special forum area reserved for that purpose, or at the help desk.

Being that you are probably infected, feel free to follow the instructions below to receive free, one-on-one expert assistance in checking your system and clearing out any infections and correcting any damage done by the malware.

Please see the following pinned topic which has information on how to get help with this: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers

Thank you

Thank you Forum Deity and Root Admin.    I just got home from work.   I'll try to copy and paste this topic to the proper website later this weekend when I get a chance.    I am going to try and restore and do a complete scan before I do.   Thank you again for you help.

Respectfully, Ray.
