Hashes for MalwareBytes files (at least for the last version)

Recommended Posts

I am experiencing similar problems to described here:

https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/144871-event-5038-security-failure/

I have MalwareBytes Anti-Malware Home (Premium) version v2.1.8.1057.

The file is the same, mwac.sys.

Hashes I have:

File    : <C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mwac.sys>
MD5     : EAFEB8DF 3B5B2AD7 848B4C36 7FDD6E05
SHA-1   : A832F0DE 2008E77C ADCE2994 C61DB592 8443B547
SHA-256 : 7444D9DB 01D28100 831CDE32 08829784 225A92C4 CDF9ED59 4EA3DD8F 5FEAEA98
SHA-512 : 06C6EA84 762EBBCC 35144B54 CF1A28AD BA3E635F 63F4FDDB 9ACA9CD0 AB9E64C7 2AF04A6F 9E7A5FCE 76EF1583 4FC89663 E3C42AF4 48394209 27F826AF 92A9F1FC
Size-64 : 00000000 0000CAD8

Are these correct?

Also is there a web page where the hashes for files are listed?

Hello hhvbytes and :welcome:

The qualified answer to your question is if those digests are calculated from a Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) v2.1.8.1057 installation in a 32-bit Windows system, then the likelihood approaches 100% that a signed 32-bit file version 1.0.6.0 of that driver is being examined:

Reference: https://www.virustotal.com/file/7444d9db01d28100831cde3208829784225a92c4cdf9ed594ea3dd8f5feaea98/analysis/

VirusTotal.com, and others have made it mostly unnecessary to independently publish web pages of digests for MBAM's files. To begin resolving the issue of Audit Failure (eventid=5038) entries in that system's event logs, it might be best to begin here:

  • Please try the following and let us know if this corrects your issue: MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x.
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and individually attach the 3 requested logs in a reply to this thread: Diagnostic Logs.
  • The 3 files, from Step 2, to be individually attached from your desktop are CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt. Please do not Copy and Paste them into a reply.
Thank you.
