DCP_Watchdog violation

Recommended Posts

Hi

I performed the steps as explained, except, I receive an error message when trying to launch perfmon/report.

Message "The operator/user has declined your request".

In attach I already include de ZIP file.

Hopefully you can help

Note:

My issue is that every time I work on my PC, a blue screen appears with the message.

"Windows has detected an error... etc. DCP_Watchdog Violation"

I'm no IT specialist, so I hope you can help anyway

The Synaptics Touchpad Driver is the one causing the problems according to the dump files. The Synaptics Driver version which you have installed dates to April 2015. Have you tried using an older Synaptics Touchpad driver?

Also, I see that the BIOS is 6+ years old -
BiosReleaseDate = 03/06/2009
I checked Sony support website and there were no drivers available for Windows 8.1 which your system is running. Below is a list of 3rd party drivers present on your system -

Most of the drivers are very old as well (Marked with //old). At this point of time, my best advice to you would be to test an older version of the Synaptics driver and if that does not work, I would strongly suggest you to downgrade to Windows 7.

Let me know how it goes ^_^

Your UEFI/BIOS (version R0330Q1) dates from 2009.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

This device doesn't have any drivers installed:

Base System-apparaat    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_903B104D&REV_11\4&1E049D7E&0&3CF0    The drivers for this device are not installed.

This is most likely a Ricoh Memory Stick Host Controller driver and it should be available at the Vaio support site for your system.

Please install it immediately.

Nearly all of the memory dumps (shown in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report) point at your Synaptics touchpad driver (as do many of the memory dumps that I analyzed below).
Please:

- download a fresh copy of the latest, WIn8.1 compatible version of this driver from the Vaio support site for your model.

- uninstall the current version from your system

- install the freshly downloaded version

- monitor for further BSOD's

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

I didn't see blueelvis' reply when I posted.

Please follow his suggestions before mine.

PS - I tried to edit my post to mention this, but the editor won't work for me.

Hi Gunther & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-

Stack -

The Synaptics Touchpad Driver is the one causing the problems according to the dump files. The Synaptics Driver version which you have installed dates to April 2015. Have you tried using an older Synaptics Touchpad driver?

Also, I see that the BIOS is 6+ years old -
BiosReleaseDate = 03/06/2009

Dear

Thank you for your swift reply.

I personaly would prefer to downgrade to Windows 7, but it raises some additional questions:

- Where do I find a (free) licence - not corrupt of course

People tell me it's availble on the net..

- Can I downgrade, because I have a standard Windows 8.1 version (free)

- How do I downgrade?

- Will it solve all the issues, or will I still have to upgrade some drivers?

Txs in advance

Gunther
