Issue With "Donate" & "..list of startups..." Links, and Continue Button Not Working

Recommended Posts

I tried to determine where to post this, and chose here because this subforum  welcomed suggestions and comments.

I ran StartUpLite v 1.07 for the first time and went to submit a donation via the Donate button, which brought me to the Malwarebytes Products page (https://www.malwarebytes.org/products/), and I was unable to find any donation links there.

When I tried to use this feature: "For a list of startups detected by StartUpLite, click here" it dropped this URL into my web browser "https://forums.malwarebytes.org//index.php?showtopic=1248-startups-listed-in-startuplite/" which my browser truncated to "https://index.php/?/topic/1248-startups-listed-in-startuplite/-startups-listed-in-startuplite/"due to the double forward slashes ("//") preceeding it.  I manualy removed one of those forward slashes and the page resolved correctly.

The program found no unnecessary startups, and the "Continue" button was greyed out (inaccessible), so I had to exit the program via the red “X” in the top right corner.

This is an excellent program, I have added it to my malware toolkit, and I still would like to make a donation.

I don't believe Malwarebytes accepts donations, rather they would like you to spread the word about their products and consider the purchase of them.

StartUpLite v1.07 hasn't been updated for several years now and only finds unnecessary startup items on 32-bit version of Windows.

If you are using a 64-bit version of Windows, it will never find anything as the startup locations are different I believe.

@Marcin (site owner) said a year or so ago he was going to do a decent update of this awesome program (that I used to used very often with great success) but this never happened. :(

If anyone else knows if this will ever be updated again, please post here!

We've had issues prioritizing resources unfortunately, we are working on some interesting stuff though, but I don't have timelines :(.

Maybe I'll pick up a compiler and work it over  :P
