Ding sound that sounds like you click on something that cannot be click appear when nothing is click

There is 1 PC that has just finished downloading windows update and the HP assistance support just started to search for updates when the 'ding' sound first appear. It appear when nothing is being click. Afterwards while looking at the event viewer the sound appear again, at that time the searching have already finished and from the event viewer there isn't any error.

This has never happen before and the PC does not surf the net. It only connects for windows updates. This PC is practically isolated from internet. Everything plug in have been scan by another PC and only plug in when the scaning PC shows no problem after a few days. Is the sound issue something to be worried about?

On a guess - maybe something in your sounds is on, try your control panel/ sounds/ sounds tab.  (if its Windows 7?) Hit the test button and see if theres a sound match?

It sound like 'ding1' and 'windows critical stop' not sure which is it.

turn one at a time or both *off* ...

see what happens .

(i have all my sounds turned off)
