Malwarebytes Icon appears in taskbar

Recommended Posts

That just shows that MBAM is active and protecting your computer. If you close it, MBAM will no longer be providing you with malware protection.

Hello jamginger and :welcome:

Let's begin by allowing the experts and staffers to analyse diagnostic text files from the system:

  • Please read the topic Diagnostic Logs and then individually ATTACH the 3 requested logs in your next reply to this thread only.
  • The 3 files, from Step 1, to be individually ATTACHED from your desktop are CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt. Please do not Zip or Copy and Paste them into a reply. Please do not alter, any FRST categories as they are pre-configured for this forum.

Thank You.

The one that jamginger is referring to is like the one in my screenshot highlighted in blue (which I don't see on yours)

Yes, mine doesn`t show that one. Advanced settings is the only one that refers to startup. (attached.) I`m also attaching the Malwarebytes icon that popups up in the taskbar at startup. :)

Well, it would be best for your diagnostic logs.

It doesn't seem the issue you are having is related to the "update on reboot" as Firefox stated.

Therefore, the issue could lay somewhere else in this case.

I'd advice you to try a clean install using the mbam_clean utility which will completely remove MBAM (you'll need your license details again to re-activate) and re-install MBAM and then activate.

If that doesn't fix it, the diagnosic logs would be the way to go.
