My firewall reports the keystone.mwbsys.com trying to spy on my Computer?

Recommended Posts

Today I got the message that a new version of Malwarebytes Anti-malware is available. Of course I have this installed the same. Once the program is started, at once suggests my firewall alert and tells me the keystone.mwbsys.com tried my computer spying. This is the version and has apparently someone stole my keys? Then I checked the protocol from the Firewal and found keystone.mwbsys.com on April. Maybe I have been concerns me a malicious software. But why only the new version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware? Was there perhaps an infected Anti-Malware palmed. On my second computer I have your program downloaded and installed directly on your web site. Again the same message from my firewall and my key was taken away from me and get out of here. I do not understand, Your software should protect me yet? When I run your program or finish playing my firewall crazy. My virus scanner found nothing and after uninstalling Anti-Malware all was well again. Maybe something wrong with their software.

Calm down!!!  Version 2.1.8 of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware connects to keystone.mwbsys.com, exactly as you said.  It is not spying on you, but it is communicating with your copy of Malwarebytes..  It is our licensing system.  Your firewall should allow access to it.  This is the first version that uses this system, and it will be used from this point forward.

Well as much helpers at once, sorry it took a while. Since my husband understands more about computers (as I understand more of the pie baking) he will take over here.

Short presentation of me, I'm John

I have taken the time and myself all tried again with the same result. Then I sat down with the manufacturer of my firewall in conjunction, followed by a quick response was that I should grant access to this address (keystone.mwbsys.com) in no case with the request of sending all logs and if I had a telephone conversation prefer my phone I would like. In the meantime I have tried even more information about the activation process to obtain with respect to the current version of Anti-Malware. In the telephone conversation was explained to me why there is this message that access their software in the course of contacting keystone.mwbsys.com, a Subprocess to areas of the system which allows it to others to identify myself clearly and tried to transfer this. Since I am only times become very noisy where you told me that this is a typical behavior of a software to monitor a computer and find! What about my privacy, but I will not. For this I have 3 licenses of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware bought to protect myself from such attacks and now your software has a behavior like spyware. Not enough data were shown to have been transmitted from April 2015 where with Version accompanied. Deffinitiv still legitimate as long as it is only the key of your software. So in short, their software has done something that no longer distinguishes a legitimate security software. When I then read that it is possible to track the key, like that of a monitor! Orsone Wells since 1984 now total understatement. If you still read what a mess there with the keys, which is then compared with the data from my system to your server has to be, because I can not remember if the fall into the wrong hands. On both computers I have your software uninstalled, because I do not let myself be monitored like a criminal! Your Amnasty program gives the impression of a honeypot and then the invoices of your attorneys will be sent. My wife and I want with a company that goes so far have nothing to do and spied on its customers.

Thankyou for help!

Licensing and activation of most paid software is very common now days. We collect IP, product version, license, OS. to verify compliance with our licensing. We do not collect any personal data from your system.

If this is something that you're not comfortable with then I would recommend you seek a refund for the product. Prolonged blocking of the licensing server will result in the product going into the free mode and no longer protecting you from threats.

Thank you

hy, again by John
I remembered that I still have an old computer with Windows XP have with which I am not online for more than 1 year and all I had no rest, looked in my files which I can prove the purchase of 3 Linzenzen their program, just decided create an image of my hard drive and Windows XP freshly installed. Firewall installed and drivers from my LAN adapter. My router reconnected for a new IP. Windows XP enabled, no message of my firewall, updates Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is installed and started, again the message of the firewall time communication allows the keystone.mwbsys.com Server and Serial type and activated. After a moment, in the GUI above premium was activated. Among my account was exactly my key to see and License Type Lifetime. Hope that's good, because I did not get offered new key, not again I get an invoice. Now whole again with Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. Firewall installed and reconnected my router for a new IP. Windows 7 is enabled, no message of my firewall, updates Malwarbytes Anti-Malware is installed and started, again the message of the firewall time communication allows the keystone.mwbsys.com Server. Just wanted to enter my key because Look whence come the key, can now watch their program in the future and has recognized that I want to enter it. Sorry, but in all seriousness what I am looking for a movie? So other IP, another operating system but same hardware. Ok the key deactivate and again installed Windows XP .... checked whether any of the key is available, again free version. Well, it's your software and have the right to pay the User the Premium version and enforce such If I install Windows 7 and am online then it is also not easy activated only because it has activated on this computer again. This is me very suspect. Then I can only congratulate you, maybe ask the NSA whether they are sometimes not interested at their new licensing system? Since my wife and I do not agree with this kind of monitoring, it remains to banish in our decision and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from all our computers.

Thanks again for your effort.

Monitoring is strictly on what @AdvancedSetup specified earlier in this thread.  We know nothing about your computer other than the license information of our software.  This software is provided to you as a free product with that does not include real-time protection, or as a paid subscription which allows you to use the real-time protection if you choose to.  Purchases made earlier than April 2014 are for a single computer, and are lifetime licenses.

If the license was deactivated in the program -- meaning that you used the Malwarebytes interface to deactivate the product AND the computer was connected to the internet when you deactivated it AND reactivated it on the same computer later, there should be no problem.  An attempt to activate a lifetime license on a second computer would fail if it is in use elsewhere OR if it was improperly deactivated elsewhere.

If you consider our attempts to protect our intellectual property from the many people who do not want to pay for the protection they receive from Malwarebytes too intrusive, you have the right to stop using it.  As was mentioned earlier, it is not unusual for software vendors to verify that their software is being used legally.  Microsoft does it on every one of your computers every time you start the computer.  Is this a reason to stop using Windows?  That too, is your decision.  We hope you continue to use Malwarebytes to protect your computers, and recognize that you may choose otherwise.

We wanted more for their trusting time where your product for use came to thank (the money for the security software you have richly earned), as we understand your point completely but they also understand our position that we do not trust each other more. (In particular, according to the experiments of my husband) all the best for the future of your company and please try not afraid to make if we are no longer using their product to us, the opposite is the case. As if you had to choose between the pestilence and cholera, both we do not want! We think that everything is said and thank you for the last time for your help.

bye bye :(

my firewall tells me of my data were transmitted to your license or activation server since April 2015, because of only since Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Not enough, they told me it would be the following data collected IP, product version, license, OS now they have forgotten what not, properly Daktylogramm of the computer hardware where your program is installed. Think about the trials of my husband, is the way each sample once and be convinced. You have to be flexible in the software industry today, why not even a monitoring software for positioning of computer that works ever.

So that's enough, both of us is bad enough.
