Issues with updating

Recommended Posts

Hi, dpout69:

Same thing going on here

There are many possible explanations for that particular error.

For example, it can be caused by minor program corruption, inaccurate system date/time, software conflict, networking/connectivity problems, cdn/server hiccups, or malware.
IOW, problems that sound "the same" may have different causes and solutions, since each computer is unique.

It is less confusing for everyone if we try to stick to "one user per topic".
We can better assist you if you would please do the following:

  • First, please read the following to produce the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt) and please save them to your desktop.
  • Then, please attach those 3 logs to a NEW, SEPARATE forum topic using this clickable cjfj.png button.

The staff and experts will be able to more easily provide you and the Topic Starter with individual help to get you both up and running.

Thanks for your patience and understanding,

One workaround is to close malwarebytes and reopen it.  The update link will again be useable.

Also if you upgrade to I think it goes away.  Not sure yet, I need to run it for a while.

As I said I believe it just has to do with how they rolled out this new version.  You have the "Check for Program Updates..." box unselected in your update settings right?  They are doing funky stuff on their side with this rollout.
