Still can't run any version after 2.0.4.1028

Recommended Posts

They install, but don't run.  I've ran all these programs and then some.  Nothing it being detected. 2.0.4.1028 runs fine except the nagging about update.

I look through the logs an there isn't anything that shows up as malware and when I run it through loganalyzer MBAM Services comes back as Malware.   I used MBAM Clean and run MBAM Check and still nothing in the logs and when I run it through loganalyzer I get no "Malware" noted.

Chameleon works when 2.0.4.1028 is install but doesn't work with later versions.

Here's my windows Application log and I also attached my MBAM Check results with MBAM installed.

Hello Sinster:

The logs indicate the computer is in need of actions not permitted in this sub-forum.

I recommend following the advice from the topic: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers and have one of the Malware Removal Experts assist you with your issue.

If, as recommended, you do open a topic in Malware Removal Help, please make reference to this thread.

If you would like to get off to a very fast start, the Malware Removal Experts would appreciate it if you would also Copy and Paste (not attach) both the FRST.txt and the Addition.txt output diagnostic reports from only Log Set 1 into your new topic. Please do not tick, nor untick, any pre-configured FRST categories.

Thank you. :)

Thanks 1PW I apprieciate the repsonse.

If you're infected or think you are please start your own topic as needed after reading the information below.

However my computer isn't infected or do I suspect it being infected.

I want help with the program itself.

Just because the program doesn't open doesn't mean I'm infected.

Hello there Sinster! I made an account especially for this topic... namely, I haven't gotten through all your trouble, but after a VERY bad case of malware or a virus thingie a couple of days ago, I had to use MBAM. However, it installed but wouldn't run... I tried the MBAM cleaner, then uninstall, reinstall, Chameleon (none of the 12 or so 'fixes' did anything)... so I was hopeless and had to conclude the virus damaged my PC that much that it was actually preventing MBAM from running (and it created an array of problems in the Registry, IE, MS Word, Chrome... you name it - there was damage to be fixed even after I got rid of it, courtesy of SUPER Anti Spyware).

However, just an hour ago I came across a post on the net offering a very weird solution (if all else failed)... it said: rename the MBAM exe file. Do something simple, like BMAM.exe (which I did). So I said the heck with it... renamed, pressed enter, and lo and behold, MBAM got right up and is doing a full scan as we speak! So maybe you should try those tips too? Full explanation here: https://vonunov.nu/vocation/tips/mbam.php#norun

Hope it helps you or anyone else in the same predicament! Have a good one! :)

Hello and welcome, @D1112:

Thanks for your well-intentioned suggestion.

Please be aware, however, that -- for safety -- regular members are not permitted to provide malware removal advice.

Moreover, all work on malware diagnosis, removal and repair is conducted by authorized helpers in a special area of the forum reserved for that purpose.

Thanks for your understanding.

@Sinster:

I understand that this thread is nearly 3 months old now.

Do you still need help?
