version update installation error code 32

Received 'update new version' notification after using malwarebytes application.

During the setup stage, i  received code 32 move flle failed.

C:\Programfiles(x86)\Malwarebytes

Anti-Malware\Chameleon\Windows\firefox.scr

 

Abort Retry or Ignore

I tried Retry several times but did not work.

What can I do?

Clean Uninstal, Also Delete C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Configuration\

buid.conf

license.conf

Then re-install.

Let's start with some routine troubleshooting:

• Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: The MBAM 2.1.8 installer is NOT YET available at the usual download page. So, when you get to that step in the process please use THIS LINK to download it (otherwise you'll be reinstalling version 2.1.6):
    • If you use the NoScript browser extension, you'll need to enable "box.com" and "boxcdn.net"
• If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)

I did a clean uninstall and reinstalled the new version of MBAM.

everything worked great.

Yes, the program update applies to both Free and Premium.

 

2.1.8 will be available for General release and manual download soon (perhaps within the next few days).

 

So, if you are back to 2.1.6 Free, you can do any one of these to upgrade to 2.1.8:

1. Wait for it to be offered to you via the program's internal updater when you next run a manual update (be sure you have your updater settings configured to check for PROGRAM updates, not just database updates) for an on-top upgrade: OR
2. Download the 2.1.8 installer from this special link HERE, and then either:
   1. Install on top of your 2.1.6 build, OR
   2. Perform a clean upgrade, following this tutorial, but using the 2.1.8 installer instead; OR
3. Wait for the 2.1.8 installer to be available in a few days on the regular MBAM product download page, and then either:
   1. Install on top of your 2.1.6 build, OR
   2. Perform a clean upgrade, following this tutorial
