I am trying to set Malwarebytes Premium (2.1.6.1022)  to update once a day and to update if it misses the set time. Win 7.1 Pro 64-bit.

When I click Settings then  Auto Scheduling my setting reads:

Repeats once every 1 day - Run again within 15 hours from last miss

That says to me that it wil try to update if it misses the update time (0800) and will keep trying for 15 hours - that is until 2300,

But if I edit the schedule and click the advanced drop-down the Recovery option says:

Recover if missed by: 15 hours

That says to me that it will wait 15 hours then try again.

What's going on here? I have looked at the FAQ, the pdf manual and the videos but singularly unhelpful.

Not sure why you want to only update once a day.  If you have the Premium version, you should probably update more than once a day.  The database updates gets update anywhere from 8 + times a day.  It is updates often to make sure you are protected from the latest threats and to remove false positives.

Best is to use the default setting of updating once an hour.  The updates are incremental so it would not use too much internet.

I have mine set to run every hour, and Recover missed tasks (Advanced option) to 4 hours.

Win 7.1 Pro 64-bit  Malwarebytes Pro 2.1.6.1022

Windows firewall & MS Security Essentials

Update once a day

I seem to have cracked it - leastways it has been updating on two computers (both exactly the same) at bootup with the same settings for a week now. If anybody is interested these are the settings:

In the Program Files (x86)/Malwarebytes set all five of the .exe files to "Run as Administrator"

Add all five programs to the Windows Firewall allowed programs.

Malwarebytes Auto scheduler settings:

Frequency: Daily

Recurrence: 1 day

Start time: 0800

Recover if missed by: 15 hours

With reference to the above post about why I only want a daily update. I'm 67 and retired - computer is only running for about four hours a day and some of that I'm offline on the flightsim. I learnt to program in 1975 using a teletype machine to save the program on punched-paper tape. Fed that into a computer with only 8k of memory - each card 1k using ferrite cores wound with copper wire. So very tight coding; if it's not necessary don't do it. Still the same boring mindset I'm afraid.

Many thanks to Firefox & Pondus.
