Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Update to 2.1.6

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to let everyone know that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.1.6 was released today as an update. Initially this update will only be available to a limited number of 2.1.x users through the program updater service.

Over the next week or so we’ll get this new version posted on our main website and will continue to roll it out more widely.

If you wish to install the new version right away you may download it from here.

Here's what’s changed in this release:

Issues Fixed:

·         Fixed crash during Heuristic Analysis phase when scanning

·         Fixed SDK database load errors by making a change to temporarily ignore the “Check for updates before scanning” setting for Scheduled Scans

·         Fixed crash when editing or removing an Access Policy if the name and description fields in the policy were different

·         Fixed issue where the “Restart computer when required for threat removal” setting did not appear correctly on Add or Edit Schedule dialogs

·         Updated end user license agreement

Known Issues:

·         The fix for the SDK database load error issue referenced above is not a permanent fix, but rather a work-around as we continue to investigated these errors.  As soon as we have a more permanent solution we plan to roll back the work-around and again honor the “Check for updates before scanning” setting.  We should hopefully have this ready for our next release, which will be coming soon.

·         If you continue to see these errors after installing 2.1.6, then please reduce the overall number of scheduled scans and updates you have set up.  If you stick with the default daily Threat Scan and one scheduled Update Check every couple hours, then you should be fine.

Installation over previous version, reboot required here on Win 8.1.1 (probably because MBAM was still running).

All previous settings retained, no issues so far.

Staying with 2.1.4 till 2.1.6 is finished and rolled out widely as I'm not experiencing any problems or crashes.

Hi, siliconman01:

The version numbers on this website need to be updated.

Actually, the regular downloads page still offers version 2.1.4, as of this morning (at least when I checked just now).

Here's why:

I'm sure Becky and the team will update everyone when 2.1.6 becomes available for download at the regular product download page.

Cheers,

Not everyone will update right away Aura. It will roll out over time. If you want it now you may have to click on the link to download it. Sooner or later though it will show in the update for MBAM automatically.

That's what I did for the last few days and it said "No new update found". I was playing Diablo III today and it popped up to update, so I'm finally on Malwarebytes 2.1.6 :)
