# Is this a possible setup?

## Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was wondering if it was possible to run Avast! Internet Security 2015 + Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium + Comodo Firewall without any contradictions or breaks. If anyone else uses this setup, please tell me if it's possible and still provides as much protection as possible.

the use of the comodo firewall would be redundant and may cause problems as well as slowing the machine a bit .

I was thinking the same thing. I'm currently using only Avast! Internet Security 2015 and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium and it's working perfectly, just wondering if I have more options for security. Have a good day.

Hi, Valor:

In response to your PM, setting mutual exclusions between MBAM and your AV is not typically necessary for most users and most systems.
Some users prefer to do so proactively.

If you wish to do so, the general steps are explained below.
I'm not personally familiar with Avast -- perhaps a forum member who is will spot this post and provide specifics.
Otherwise, you might need to check with the Avast folks (support, forum, help file, etc).

Thank you,

For 32 bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 & Windows 8:

• C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
• C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
• C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
• C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
• C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe

For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7 & 8:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware \mbamscheduler.exe

Note: If you are using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall, you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE and MBAMSERVICE.EXE from it as well.

Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site:

`data-cdn.mbamupdates.com`
