MBAM 1.75 vs. 2.0

A few questions have come up regarding this so I thought I would clear them up.

MBAM 1.75 is our most up to date, actively maintained, and supported product for business customers. This product is very stable and includes features that enables it to work properly in business environments. The malware detection/protection capabilities provided by this product are proven and consistent with those provided in the Consumer 2.0 versions. The main differences between the Business 1.75 and the Consumer 2.0 products are:

  1. The Business 1.75 version has a more IT admin friendly UI vs. the more consumer friendly UI of Consumer 2.0 version.
  2. The Business 1.75 version contains features to enable it to be managed and work properly in business environments while the Consumer 2.0 version does not contain these features (e.g. there is no CLI support).
  3. The Business 1.75 version does not have our anti-rootkit remediation (MBAR) functionality included in the Consumer 2.0 version; however, MBAR is available as a standalone free tool to all Business users to ensure consistent efficacy for remediation purposes.

Updates that we have been making to the Consumer 2.0 product over the past year have been primarily focused around bug fixes, stabilization and UI/UX improvements. Thus, from an anti-malware efficacy and system performance standpoint, both products are essentially equal. We have not yet introduced a new business product as we want to ensure all of the above is ironed out and that the product is 100% ready for business users.

As for future upgrades, we are currently working on a new version that will be available for both business and consumers later this year. This will include enhanced malware detection/protection capabilities, system performance improvements, user experience enhancements, and support for business environments. We will keep you all updated as we make progress towards the release of this new version.

Hope that helps :)
