GPU 100% after flash/chrome crash

Recommended Posts

I have had the following problem recurring over and over again, but cannot find any way to sort this out. The computer boots clean and works fine. When I launch Facebook/candycrush/youtube, the GPU crashes and restores.I usually loses the chrome page. In many instances, GPU tweaks report 100% gpu usage, and the fan is at max. Sysinternals process explorer/windows process explorer or process hacker 2 do not report any GPU usage. What could go wrong ? How do I pinpoint the problem and proceed from here ? I suspect a stealth coin miner...A reboot only restores the GPU to 0%. Malwarebyte or Microsoft Security Essentials do not report any issues.

I have naturally updated all drivers, running Windows 7 on a I7-920/Sabertooth X58 and a Asus R9 290 GPU.

Best Regards,
