Basic Information

Hello there, I'm new to this forum and I was looking for someone to help me out with the problem I have. I have this Malware on my computer, which states it's name as "Zombie News". It is a malicious program which has been terrorizing my web pages when I have been trying to use things such as social networks, gaming websites, and others. It does't mess with Youtube or pages on Google for some reason though. Also, I'd like to remind you that I am using Windows 7.

What I've Already Done

Yes, I have already tried going into my programs from the control panel and tried to find it and uninstall it, but it was not there, and there were no files there that I was unfamiliar with. I've looked through my computer too, and I've only been able to find one file in my Chrome files, and it has absolutely nothing in it. I tried deleting it, but every time I would start of Chrome, it would re-appear. On the other hand, it doesn't seem to be affecting anything, it's just annoying. I've tried programs like Adwcleaner and Super Anti Spyware which I use regularly, that normally fix everything, but this time they didn't even detect that there was a problem.

Anyway, if you have any suggestions, or know where to look for those damned files, please let me know. It would be a great help! Thanks!

Hello and :welcome:

I'm Radek and I'll try to help you with your issue.

Before we start please note the following:

  • Analysis and research take some time, also sometimes real life gets in the way, please be patient.
  • Limit your internet access to posting here, some infections just wait to steal typed-in passwords.
  • Don't run any scripts or tools on your own, unsupervised usage may cause more harm than good.
  • Paste the logs in your posts, attachments make my work harder and more complicated.
  • Stay with me to the end, the absence of symtoms doesn't mean that your machine is fully operational.
  • Note that we may live in totally different time zones, what may cause some delays between answers.
I can't foresee everything, so if anything unexpected happens, please stop and inform me!

There are no silly questions. Never be afraid to ask if in doubt!
