Well I had 21 updates to do including KB 3001652.... I asked my computer to check for updates once again and it went through its motions...

I now have 20 updates and no KB 3001652, so it does indeed look as if MS pulled it...

Edit:

I installed the 20 updates and rebooted and so far so good (at least on one computer anyway)... keeping fingers crossed...

Just got to love Window Updates. That is the type of work I used to do on a daily basis DD. Had to read, read, read, analyze, test deploy, rescan, retest, over and over before pushing out updates to thousands of computers. Glad those days are over as it was a very tedious job.

Ran the first round of update this morning.

Rebooted and got the following.

Only 3GB of updates this time around.

Looks like M$ has re-enabled KB 3001652 update again, because I am being offered it once more, I have installed it successfully on at least 6 computers thus far and no ill effects just yet anyway....

Yep, I'm seeing it listed as of now but not last night when I installed 16 updates.

I also just got the Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB3034196) tonight too.

It installed just fine now I'm going for KB3001652. So that makes a total of 18 updates on my Vista system.

Last time MS had a big screw up I believe was a few months ago and I got off easy with no issues but unfortunately some others did not and had issues booting there systems. You would think as long as they have been doing this that they would not have all the problems that they do.

It's not funny.  If you you don't have High Speed Broadband, what do you do ?

Can you imagine dialup download times. Years ago I use to just manually go to the download site and get them individually and install them one by one. That was the best way I found that worked better instead of trying to get them all at one time.

Back in the day of dial up the files were smaller in size, smaller foot prints and what not.

Now with high speed internet, the coders really don't take into account the poor folks on dial up.  They don't care about those folks.  Heck I have to put limits on attachments in our email system or else folks would try to email 100MB files or larger...  One time I went to a ladies house because she said her email would not download or work.  When I checked it there was a message in the outbox.  She was trying to email a DVD movie to her sister.  it was over 4GB in size.
