Malwarebytes Anti Malware Premium - Error Code 6 and Cannot completely remove for reinstall

Recommended Posts

Hello

I posted a Issue with Running a Scan and posted on another forum.

They instructed me to Post Here and attach files as requested.

They said "Being that you are infected (at least with some PUP's) and are running multiple Security apps that all have to be dealt with, you will have to get one on one help, feel free to follow the instructions below to receive free, one-on-one expert assistance in checking your system and clearing out any infections and correcting any damage done by the malware."

Thanks

Hello

After starting a Scan using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium it Stops at 149 System Drivers and then says all the other checks are done and green. Have reloaded program, run in Safe Mode and Reloaded, no luck. Same issue.

One time reloading program in safe mode seen a Error and said something about Rootkit not loaded and would load on restart. Cannot get a full good scan of Hard Drive.

Get Scanner Failed - Error Code 6 too and Failed scan.

Sent a Email to Malwarebytes 2 days ago and no anwer yet so

Next - tried reading some answers here - Tried using the Malwarebytes Clean program to remove all of Malwarebytes - does not work completely - how I know is when I reinstall my Keys for Premium are still there and from what I read they should have been completely removed.

So I am at a loss of what to try next????

Thanks

Hello,

They call me TwinHeadedEagle around here, and I'll be working with you.

Before we start please read and note the following:

  • Limit your internet access to posting here, some infections just wait to steal typed-in passwords.
  • Please be patient. I know it is frustrating when your PC isn't working properly, but malware removal takes time.
  • Don't run any scripts or tools on your own, unsupervised usage may cause more harm than good.
  • Do not paste the logs in your posts, attachments make my work easier. There is a More reply options button, that gives you Upload Files option below which you can use to attach your reports. Always attach reports from all tools.
  • Always execute my instructions in given order. If for some reason you cannot completely follow one instruction, inform me about that.
  • Stay with me to the end, the absence of symptoms doesn't mean that your machine is fully operational.
  • Note that we may live in totally different time zones, what may cause some delays between answers.
  • Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay someone to repair it.
  • If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed.

:excl: I can't foresee everything, so if anything unexpected happens, please stop and inform me!
:excl: There are no silly questions. Never be afraid to ask if in doubt!

Should I run that to see what happens?

Last time ran it ran Ok on first scan, then when tried to custom scan and add the Rootkits on next scan to run it crashed and restarted.

So did not want to try anything till heard from you for further instructions.

Update - I was going to try and run Malwareytes and when I went to settings and tried to click Enable Self Protection it shutdown Computer right away after clicking on it and then restarted , then would not restart  in normal Windows - had to start in safe mode - then ran Adware it found a bunch viruses that were not there before - I did not do anything before that going to any bad websites or anything to cause this. I have been careful lately going to any place that may cause a issue.

Some how I think it is related to Malwarebytes and some virus has targeted this software or is attached to it somehow - A few days ago I remove it and tried the Malwarebtyes Clean program and this would not remove it fully  - how I know it the My license information was not removed even though it should have been from what I read on how the clean works.

Ideas?? Right now Malwarebytes is removed from my computer thru the uninstall.

Hi

Downloadedand installed - started a scan and the pre-scan then just sat there - waited and waited for 8 min and did not start scan next step.

So tried in Safe Mode and Same thing - so uninstalled and restarted - tried the Malwarebytes Clean Software (which went very quick and did not think did anything) and restart

It does not remove Malwarebytes completely I know this due my Registration numbers do not get removed like the text said it should do.

On Reinstall I should have to re-enter my license and it is still there, not removed.

Ideas?

Thanks

warning.gif Multiple Resident Protection warning!

Always have one (and no more than one!) AntiVirus program! In this case having more of them will not provide you with better protection - instead they may cause slowness, lock-ups and even mark another ones as harmful, leading to leave your system unstable and even damaged. Please choose only one from the listed below to stay with and uninstall the others:

  • AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011
  • avast! Antivirus

Uninstallation procedure:

  • Press the WindowsKey.png + R on your keyboard at the same time. Type appwiz.cpl and click OK.
  • Search for each uninstalled entry, right-click it and select Uninstall.

This should be done until any other steps will be taken.

Hello

I only use Avast on my PC -  AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011 do not use and was not in the list of Programs at Add and Remove Programs, the only one I had was  AVG PC Tune up so I removed that.

Possible AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011 is a virus hiding on my PC.

Since did not find in list of Programs on my PC available to be removed.

I did the next step as requested and attached file.

Right now Malwarebytes is not loaded on PC.

What is the next step?

Thank you

Hello,

First tried to clean out Malwarebytes using the Malwarebytes clean and it does does not remove Malwarebytes completely I know this due my Registration numbers do not get removed like the text said it should do.

On Reinstall I should have to re-enter my license and it is still there, not removed.

So loaded Malwarebytes and did a scan - After starting a Scan using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium it Stops at 149 System Drivers and then says all the other checks are done and green. Then get Error Code 6.

So it is the same way as when we started this.

Thanks

Hello,

I got Malwarebytes to run a full scan with no issues and did not find anything during the scan.

Since I unistalled Avast I do not have any Virus Protection. So now what I should do??

I need to have something since Malwarebytes only stops Malware not a Virus.

There must be some new issue or Virus that caused this - a New Version of Malwarebytes and or Avast or some Malware or Virus that cause all this to start up.

I have been running the Two for years with no Problems until very recent.

So something has changed or had Malware or Virus.

If it was Malware Issue how come Malwarebytes did not find it or stop it from coming on my PC???

What do you think ??

Really do not want to run with out some kind of Virus Software.

Thanks

Hello

Update - loaded Malwarebytes and ran a scan - did a full scan - nothing found

Loaded Avast did full scan OK - nothing found

after that ran Malwarebytes and ran a scan and watched for a while it went past 149 drivers check ( where it had issue)

and continued on like it should and thought all was OK and would finish - I was wrong

Well I came back to PC and it restarted by it self and was waiting for me to log in - login and tried Malwarebytes again

It is acting the same as when we started all this - at 149 drivers it stops

and says all checks done and green and get the Error 6 again

It is like we did nothing - there is something we are missing here or Malware that knows Malwarebytes.

Ideas??

Thanks
