PUP.OptionalSearchProtect.A, what is this?

Recommended Posts

Hello and :welcome: :

This sticky topic explains PUPs: What are the 'PUP' detections, are they threats, and should they be deleted?

Yes, it is generally safe and advisable to allow MBAM to quarantine them.
Having said that, some PUPs can be rather pesky, requiring multiple tools for complete removal.

And we cannot know for sure what's on your system, without seeing the logs.

However, we aren't permitted to work on malware removal issues here in this particular forum section.

If you are not sure what to keep/ignore and what to remove/quarantine, then I suggest that you might want to please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.
A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue.

Thanks,
