Icons and wallpaper disappear while running Malwarebytes

Recommended Posts

The last few times I have started up Malwarebytes, my desktop icons, start menu and wallpaper disappear. Malwarebytes still runs fine and all desktop appears again once the program is done scanning. I am currently running Windows 7 and have never had an issue with this in the past. Am I doing something wrong and is there any way to fix this? Any help would be much appreciated!

Hello and :welcome: :

That is not a commonly-reported problem. Let's start with some routine troubleshooting:

  • Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
