EDIT: OOPS! gonzo beat me to it, while I was typing. ;) I think that the information below is also correct, with a few additional options??

Hello and welcome back:

The answer depends on when you purchased the license, and on whether it is a 1-PC license or a 3-PC license.

If it is a 1-PC, lifetime license that was purchased before March 2014 (or in certain promotions or online sales after that date), then it does not expire. :)

If it is a 3-PC, subscription license that was purchased after March 2014, then the license will expire 1 year from the date of activation on the first PC*.

(*I think that the clock starts with the first activation, not at the time of purchase -- staff will correct me if I am wrong about that.)

Unfortunately, AFAIK currently there is no way to tell from the program GUI with the current version of MBAM 2.x when that is.
There are a couple of options:

  • Download, save and run this tool; then attach the log to your next reply: mbam-check
  • or
  • Contact cleverbridge, the e-commerce partner, if you purchased your license from the Malwarebytes online store: Cleverbridge contact info
  • or
  • Contact Malwarebytes consumer support (they may be able to look up the info): Contact Consumer Support
  • or
  • Wait until you receive notification from Malwarebytes that your license will be expiring soon, if you purchased directly from Malwarebytes.

Hope this helps,

Hi:

OK, I still don't understand where you are finding that information? :(

But if "it" says that the license was activated 04/14/14, then the license probably expires on 14 April 2015, IFFFF 14 April 2014 was the day that you first activated the 3-PC subscription license on the first PC. :)

I expect that, as gonzo explained, you will be notified before then.

Unless you opted out of automatic renewal at the time of purchase, then the license subscription will probably be automatically renewed, unless you contact cleverbridge to cancel the renewal.

If you still have questions about this, then I would suggest trying one of the options in my original reply (particularly posting the checkresults.log from mbam-check).

Thank you again,

I have the Lifetime License version and when I click on "My account" top right corner I can see License Details and the activation date 10/14/14.... which was the date when I used mbam clean tool and reinstalled mbam.

Please can someone who has got the Lifetime License check  under "My account / Licence Details" whether there is an activation date displayed for your mbam too?

Thanks

Correct.

The "activation date" has nothing to do with the term or expiration of a lifetime, 1-PC license.

The "activation date" is only that -- it is the date you activated it (after a clean install, a transfer, an upgrade from the Free version, etc).

Lifetime, 1-PC licenses do not expire.

The "activation date" really only matters for users with a 3-PC, subscription license. For those users, AFAIK, the subscription expires 1 year from the first date of the first expiration on the first of up to 3 computers.

Yes, users with a "lifetime" license all see the "activation date", as explained above.

There is currently no way -- with the current version of MBAM 2.0 -- to determine from within the Graphical User Interface (GUI) or dashboard, whether the license is "lifetime" or "subscription", or (for the subscription license) the date of expiration.

The development team has promised some improvements and enhancements to this with a future program version.

If you have a lifetime license, then you need not worry.

It will not expire.

Thank you,

Welcome.

I'm sorry, gunner, but this thread is discussing MBAM licenses, not malware. :(
We are not permitted to work on possible malware-related issues here in this section of the forum.

So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.
A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue.

Thanks,

P.S. the mod team may split off your post to a separate topic. No worries, though.

Thank you very much for your time to reply and putting my mind at rest. Very much appreciated!  :)
