My OS is Windows 7.0. I own Trend Micro 2015 Internet security. I also own Malwarebytes Premium. These don't play well together at all. Once you install Malwarebutes, all seems fine at first. Then after you run the first scan with Malwarebytes and reboot your computer, not all startup programs come on anymore, the computer keeps working hard, the fan is blowing. The computer does not even load up the Control Panels correctly so that you could uninstall Malwarebytes. You have to restarts it in save mode and then uninstall Malwarebytes. That alone won't bring your computer up to snuff again. No, you now have to uninstall Trend Micro again and reinstall it. Then your computer is back to normal. I spent countless hours on trying to find a way around and I am a computer forensics analyst. It just won't work.

Hello and :welcome: , karenoden:

This thread is pretty ancient, in software terms (nearly 5 years old).
So, nothing here in this old topic will likely apply to the current versions of either TM or MBAM.
As such, I expect that the mod team will likely split off your post, so that you can receive individual help. :)

Having said that, MBAM Premium is designed to run just fine alongside all of the major AVs.

Plenty of folks run TM with MBAM without issues.

So, we would suggest starting with some routine troubleshooting, starting with a "clean" MBAM reinstall:

  • Please carefully follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x  (NOTE: You may wish to set mutual exclusions between TM and MBAM -- instructions are below.)
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Please exclude the following files from your Antivirus Software for your version of Windows:

For 32 bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 & Windows 8:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe

  • For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7 & 8:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware \mbamscheduler.exe
Note: If you are using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall, you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE and MBAMSERVICE.EXE from it as well.

Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site:
    data-cdn.mbamupdates.com
