I was talking to a friend of mine on Steam chat while playing a game and he was trying to send me the link to turnitin.com but accidently put .co instead of .com. I clicked the .co link without noticing the differance and the website (In the steam web browser) was playing audio saying I have a malware and I need to download this and that and when I tried to close it a little window popped up saying "Wait" I didn't click anything on it and instead shutdown the game, which also shuts down the web browser. I ran two threat scans on malwarebytes but it came up with nothing. However, my sound on windows is now not working. I checked playback devices, checking if its muted, turning up volume unplugging my headphones and trying differant audio sources from differant videos or games etc. So, I'm wondering if I got a virus from the turn it in .co website and malwarebytes just isn't detecting it.
