mbam.exe application error

Recommended Posts

Hi:

That sounds as if it might be a Windows error, not an internal MBAM program error?

I understand that you reinstalled, but it's not clear from your post if you used the removal tool.

To get us to a known point for troubleshooting, please start here:

  • Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)
  • NOTE: There is an FAQ section with valuable information located here - Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Ah yeah my bad lol. Im really horrible at explaining things. I did use the removal tool. I can go ahead and retry if you wish. I have Mbam set up to scan while im at work (i work 3rds so its in the middle of the night) and when i get home and get on the computer that error message is greeting me accompanied usually by my computer being completely frozen.

If the computer is not awake at the scheduled scan time, that could be contributing to errors?

If you followed the clean reinstall procedures recently, to no avail, feel free to skip down to step #2 and attach the 3 requested logs to your next reply.

EDIT: what type of scan are you trying to run? A daily threat scan is more than sufficient under most conditions, especially with MBAM Premium real-time protection alongside your AV.

Thanks,

Thanks for the logs and for the additional info.

Until a staff member or expert has a chance to review the logs, I'll respectfully reiterate that the routine, frequent, "custom" scans of all drives and volumes is neither necessary nor recommended.
It's a task better suited to your anti-virus.
MBAM is designed to be installed and run from the OS boot drive, and a regular "Threat" scan is all that's needed under most circumstances.
The different scan types are explained here.

Yes, the system's sleep state and power settings *may* impact the success of scheduled scans.
It's largely a "Windows" power management issue.

But in general, AFAIK, if the computer is not awake at the scheduled scan time, the scan will not run.

I don't know for sure if that explains the error you've been getting.  I mention it only as information.

Thanks for your patience until someone reviews the logs and makes further recommendations,

I'm sorry but the logs show that this computer is pirating software from Microsoft. As such we cannot assist you without removal.

User says pirated software has been removed.

Please follow the advice below and have someone inspect the computer to ensure it's not infected.

I would suggest following the advice from the topic here Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers and having one of the Experts assist you with looking into your issue.
