IE background Process and Pro PC Cleaner/PC Keeper

Hello,

 

System if a Windows 7 system, 2TB hard drive, purchased shortly after Windows 8 came out, it was the last one at the store with Windows 7, so it is fairly new.

 

Several things are going on.

1. There is a IE task showing in Internet Explorer that I can't end the process - called WOMEN - ondedemgr.com.

2. Several programs are installed that can't be uninstalled: Pro Pc Cleaner, PC Keeper, SolidYouTube Downloader and Converter 6.1.9.0 from Dream Video Soft, TV Wizard from Small Island Development. They were all installed about the same time.

3. When browsing with Internet Explorer periodically clicking on a link spawns some new browser tabs from paidoutbrain.com with a phone number to call 1-855-2248 and something called viralnoun. This is the main problem. There is also a lot of disk activity going on that shouldn't be happening but no real clue as to what is causing it.

 

What I've tried:

1. I've run Malware Bytes and quarantined all items that showed up.

2. Tried to end the process on the IE session that is showing at start up but it won't end

3. Used Malware Bytes with Scan for Rootkits and it found: YoutubeServexe and YoutubeDowload_PL

4. Ran FixDamage from the Malware Bytes folder but this didn't seem to do anything

5. Tried to uninstall the programs

  a. Pro PC Cleaner gives a message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

  b. PC Keeper pops up a windows that asks to continue and gives Verified Publisher - Microsoft Windows but the installation lists Kromtech as the vendor

  c. SolidYouTube Downloader gives the same pop up as b.

  d. TV Wizard gives the same pop up as b and c

6. Restarted in Safe Mode and received the same messages when trying to uninstall

7. Reviewed the Add-ons in Internet Explorer and there are no unexpected add-ons or search providers listed.

 

But after all my attempts, the unwanted IE sessions still pop up eventually.

I haven't tried HitmanPro and adwcleaner. I'm always leery about Free software that I haven't seen reviewed.
