Hi,

Malwarebytes anti Malware has been getting error code 0xc0000279 when I try running it or uninstalling it. I have tried to uninstall it via programs and features menu but that does not work. I downloaded norton as a temporary safety measure and scanned my computer and it said it didn't find anything. I am very suspicious because games have been running very poorly and my computer in general seems slower. I dont know what to do next and need help.

Hello and welcome!

I'm Radek and I'll try to help you with your issue.

Before we start please note the following:

  • Analysis and research take some time, also sometimes real life gets in the way, please be patient.
  • Limit your internet access to posting here, some infections just wait to steal typed-in passwords.
  • Don't run any scripts or tools on your own, unsupervised usage may cause more harm than good.
  • Paste the logs in your posts, attachments make my work harder and more complicated.
  • Stay with me to the end, the absence of symtoms doesn't mean that your machine is fully operational.
  • Note that we may live in totally different time zones, what may cause some delays between answers.
I can't foresee everything, so if anything unexpected happens, please stop and inform me!

There are no silly questions. Never be afraid to ask if in doubt!

Boot into Safe Mode and try running CKScanner grom there.

Please reboot your computer and start tapping F8 repeatedly.

You should see a couple of options there, but the main three will be:

  • Safe Mode
  • Safe Mode with networking
  • Safe Mode with command prompt
Using your arrow keys enter the Safe Mode with networking option.

Well, actually it's probably the reason why our tools don't work. These are not designed for Windows 10 yet (since 10 is still in dev/test phase).

I can't tell you more. I don't have any ideas how to fix things I am not able to see.

I don't think its windows 10, it was working fine and I have not downloaded any updates for it. Hope you can still help and sorry for wasting your time, I put the file you wanted in

Hi,

Our team wasn't able to replicate the issue. They found similar thread where user did a system restore.

The proposed course of action is to reinstall MBAM.

mbam-old.png Uninstall outdated Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Please download MBAM-clean and save it to your desktop.

  • Right-click on mbam-clean.exe icon and select RunAsAdmin.jpg Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  • It will ask you to reboot the machine - please do so.
After that follow my next instructions to download & install the newset MBAM version.

  • At the bottom click Export and choose Text file.
Save the file to your desktop and include its content in your next reply.
