unable to use malwarebytes settings

Since installing version 2.0.4.1028 I am no longer able to get a response from the Settings.  I have the notifications disabled in one box and in the next box the notifications set to stop after 3 seconds, because there is no way to set it to none.  Nevertheless, I continue to get a popup of malwarebytes trying to update.  I haven't taken the time to see how long the interval is from one update to the next, but the behavior of the program certainly fits my understanding of malware and I'm wondering if this is not actually malwarebytes but some other program?  For the meantime, I've deleted the program and will continue to try and repair whatever has gotten into my computer which is causing malwarebytes to pup up in this way.

• If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: FRST.txt, Addition.txt and CheckResults.txt)

It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.
A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue.
