help with maliciuos website being blocked constantly.

could someone please help me stop the constant barrage of malicious  websites that seem to be attacking my computer? various ip addresses and domains are being blocked but they all seem to be coming from c:\\windows\syswow64\dllhost.exe. i  had system mechanic pro when attacks occured and it stopped working to clear system clutter etc. bought premium service and after 3 remote tech sessions it was still not fixed so i got rid of them and bought malwarebytes premium.regular scans were all clear until i checked the rootkit box also. rescan came up with 12 trojans .something with o access or something. sorry for not being more informative, im not real experienced at fixing problems but i figure its time i ask for help and try to learn. so here it goes:

Before we start please read and note the following:

That being told, if any evidence of illegal OS, software, cracks/keygens or any other will be revealed, any further assistance will be suspended. If you are aware that there is this kind of stuff on your machine, remove it before proceeding!
The same applies to any use of P2P software: uTorrent, BitTorrent, Vuze, Kazaa, Ares... We don't provide any help for P2P, except for their removal. All P2P software has to be uninstalled or at least fully disabled before proceeding!

Yes, your PC seems pretty infected. Why don't you have antivirus installed, it is mandatory to have.
 
 
 

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit to your desktop.

• Double-click the icon to start the tool.
• It will ask you where to extract it, then it will start.
• Warning! Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit needs to be run from an account with administrator rights.
• Click in the introduction screen "next" to continue.
• Click in the following screen "Update" to obtain the latest malware definitions.
• Once the update is complete select "Next" and click "Scan".
• When the scan is finished and no malware has been found select "Exit".
• If malware was detected, make sure to check all the items and click "Cleanup". Reboot your computer.
• Open the MBAR folder and attach the content of the following files in your next reply:
  • "mbar-log-{date} (xx-xx-xx).txt"
  • "system-log.txt"

 

 

 

Scan with ComboFix
 
This is a very powerful tool that should be used only if advised by Malware Analyst.
Do not run ComboFix on your own!
 
Referring to this instruction, please download ComboFix by sUBs and save it to your desktop.
Temporary disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware protection - instructions here.

• Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
• Accept the disclaimer and agree if prompted to install Recovery Console.
• Do not take any actions while ComboFix goes through your System - it may cause it to stall!
• This scan may take some time!
• When finished - it will display a logfile (located also on your main drive, usually C:\ComboFix.txt).

Include that log in your next reply.
If you'll encounter any issues with internet connection after running ComboFix, please visit this link.
If an error about operation on the key marked for deletion will appear after running the tool, please reboot your machine.

hi there ,thanks for responding.i have had system mechanic pro for the last couple years now and everything seemed to be fine until about 3 or 4 weeks ago,then i noticed the health meter doing funny things and even went out completely for a couple days,when i tried to do a scan it was taking forever and wouldnt finish and even cancel itself out.finally got it to do a scan for threats it it came out clean but stopped analyzing system clutter.ive really not taken a hands on approach to maintaining my computer thinking that the antivirus would do that since it was claiming that it would. but i could have clicked on something that i shouldnt have. but after buying the premium service and 3 different remote services they didnt solve my issue and even tried to upsell me another year with supposed personalized service. anyway after that i was done with them. i bought the malwarebytes pro and i will try them. so in being more proactive ive learned i need to update windows and delete temp files regularly. after posting my issue i have found after reading through some threads that i had a poweliks  trojan and after searching that i found a listing through bleeping computer on a way to get rid of it  by running eset poweliks cleaner and then running their free scan which came up with 8 other threats which it deleted.im not getting the blocking message anymore and the processes are gone but im not sure if there is any residual things left in. was that too easy ? what do you think?

I think you should stay away from applications like System Mechanic or anything that offers "boost", "optimization" and some similar word. Service they provide is called "selling a fog", you cannot speed up your PC more than it actually is. Only way to do it is to upgrade your hardware.

thanks for being there. computer hasnt been this fast and quiet for a long time. did the combo fix delete the files that would have just reintroduced the malicious code back on with just a random key log.  and  would you recommend using the exploit software as well.i think the website said the poweliks was a exploit based trojan. anyway thanks again i have learned a lot ,this is a great forum ,thanks kevin s.

TFC - to clean unneeded temporary files.
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - to scan your system from time to time in search for malware.
Malwarebytes' Anti-Exploit - to prevent plenty of mostly exploited vulnerabilities.
McShield - to prevent infections spread by removable media.
Unchecky - to prevent from installing additional foistware, implemented in legitimate installations.
Adblock - to surf the web without annoying ads! 
 
 

Post-cleanup procedures:

 

 
Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.

• Run the tool by right click on the icon and Run as administrator option.
• Make sure that these ones are checked:
  • Remove disinfection tools
  • Purge system restore
  • Reset system settings
• Push Run.
• The program will run for a few seconds and display a notepad report. You do not need to attach it.

The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix
Tool deletes old system restore points and create a fresh system restore point after cleaning.
