Microsoft Fix It 50562 won't run on that system. It gives me a system error.

"the Microsoft Fix It does not apply to your operating system or application version."

I'm familiar with Microsoft Fix It Center if that is what you are referring to...let me know.

Hi,

1. Please try this instead of the MS Fix-It:

Open Start Menu.
In the search box, type: cmd
A file called "cmd.exe" will appear. Right-click cmd and select Run as Administrator.
A black console ("Command prompt") will open. Once opened, type in the following commands, in the exact same order!!! If an error occurs, please abort typing in commands immediately and report back to me! Also please include all spaces used by me, while typing it into the command prompt console window!
- net localgroup administrators localservice /add
  net localgroup administrators networkservice /add
[*]When done, please Reboot your computer.
[*]Report back to me if you succeeded in running those commands.

2. Please proceed with step 2 & 3 from my previous post, post #100.

I needed some time to prepare a fix for this.

1. We have to reset and check some services.

Open Start Menu
In the search box, please type services.msc and press ENTER.
If any security message is shown, please allow services.msc to start.
A window called "Services" will open.
- Under the "Name" column, look for a services called "Network Location Awareness". Double-click it.
- The service properties window will open.
- If not greyed out, please click the Start button.
- Please check if "Startup Type" is set to Automatic. If not, please correct.
- When done, please click OK to close the properties window.
[*]Please do the same for these services:
- Network List-service
- Volume Shadow Copy
- Windows Back-up -- Please set "Startup Type" to "Manual" (or "Demand"), please.

Hi,

Let's try to fix this problem.

1. Please try this instead of the MS Fix-It:

Open Start Menu.
In the search box, type: cmd
A file called "cmd.exe" will appear. Right-click cmd and select Run as Administrator.
A black console ("Command prompt") will open. Once opened, type in the following commands, in the exact same order!!! If an error occurs, please abort typing in commands immediately and report back to me! Also please include all spaces used by me, while typing it into the command prompt console window!
- netsh winsock reset catalog
- netsh int ipv4 reset "c:\reset.log"
- netsh int ipv6 reset "c:\reset.log"
When done, please Reboot your computer.
Report back to me if you succeeded in running those commands.

2. We have to back-up the Windows Registry.

Open Start Menu
Please type regedit into the search box and press ENTER.
The Windows Registry Editor will now open.
Right-click the Computer item in the list of folders onto the left, and click Export.
- Please check these values and if necessary correct them:
- Location: Desktop
- File name: backup
- When done, click Save.
[*]When done, please close "Windows Registry Editor"

3. Please press Windows Key + R

In the window that opens, please type notepad and press ENTER.
NotePad will open. Please copy/paste the following code into the NotePad file:

Checked Device Manager and it recognizes both adapters and says they are running fine. However there is a third entry under the adapters that I am unfamiliar with "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface". This device "cannot start".

Do we even know what that is?
