Have just started looking for a new a/v hook, to hang my PC hat on.

The forums look relevant and dynamic - great..

But can't see a general overview of Malwarebytes (MWB) and anything abt its compatibility with std A/V pgms on a Windows box..

As a matter of course I would never install >1 a/v on Windows (resources, mgmt etc).

So what's the recommendation from MWB (right acronym?) - uninstall current, install MWB. Build an MWB boot rescue disk?)

My current a/v has seen better days I have started to realise - so its going - but not until I have confidence in the new one - MWB is in 1st place at present.

So its an overview I'm after - covering install issues, system resource usage etc.

Probably being impatient not looking everywhere on forums - but asking always helps.

Hi:

Welcome. :)

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) Premium is specifically designed to run alongside all of the major, popular anti-virus (AV) programs.
It provides complementary, layered protection against zero-hour and zero-day threats often missed by the AVs.
MBAM is NOT an antivirus -- so, even with MBAM Premium you need a robust, real-time AV, either free or paid.
We cannot recommend any one particular AV, but some options and other resources are here: List of well known antivirus products

ALSO, for additional information:
There is an FAQ Section here: Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions
And here are links to the MBAM 2.0 User Guide: Online and PDF
And there are many useful KB topics and videos at the helpdesk support page

If you need more help with a specific feature or with running MBAM, please feel free start a new topic in the MBAM Help section >>here<<.

Someone will be happy to help you.

Thanks,
