I have a problem very similar to that posted by FTB, on Dec 23 2014 at 10:44 AM.

 

About 2 weeks ago, I was having random audio ad clips run intermittantly for several days with no successful detection or removal by any of the major anti-malware software (MBAM premium, Spyhunter4, Kaspersky, Avast, Hitman pro etc) or any of the major rootkit hunters (TDSSkiller, MBAR, AVAST etc).  

 

I seemed to get rid of the audio two days ago by disabling the shockwave flash object add-on in IE.

 

I have not heard any audio clips since then, but today I found the  following task running on IE  http://zen.esrvadspix.com/?s=7889.

 

I am unable to shut down the task or any of the related processes.

 

CPU Useage is hovering around 50%.  I am running window 7 x64.

Before we start please read and note the following:

• Limit your internet access to posting here, some infections just wait to steal typed-in passwords.

• Don't run any scripts or tools on your own, unsupervised usage may cause more harm than good.

That being told, if any evidence of illegal OS, software, cracks/keygens or any other will be revealed, any further assistance will be suspended. If you are aware that there is this kind of stuff on your machine, remove it before proceeding!
The same applies to any use of P2P software: uTorrent, BitTorrent, Vuze, Kazaa, Ares... We don't provide any help for P2P, except for their removal. All P2P software has to be uninstalled or at least fully disabled before proceeding!

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.
 
Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

• Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
• Press Scan button.
• It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
• The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
 

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.
Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

 
Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:
 
Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

• Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
• Press the Fix button just once and wait.
• If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
• When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

I just checked task manager and the rogue website is back: http://zen.esrvadspix.com/?s=8887.  I don't know how long it has been running but it was gone when I first checked it after generating Fixlog.txt.

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit to your desktop.

• Double-click the icon to start the tool.
• It will ask you where to extract it, then it will start.
• Warning! Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit needs to be run from an account with administrator rights.
• Click in the introduction screen "next" to continue.
• Click in the following screen "Update" to obtain the latest malware definitions.
• Once the update is complete select "Next" and click "Scan".
• When the scan is finished and no malware has been found select "Exit".
• If malware was detected, make sure to check all the items and click "Cleanup". Reboot your computer.
• Open the MBAR folder and paste the content of the following files in your next reply:
  • "mbar-log-{date} (xx-xx-xx).txt"
  • "system-log.txt"

• Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save the file to your Desktop.

• Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
• Wait until the database is updated.
• Accept the Terms of use and click Scan.
• When finished, please click Clean.
• Upon completion, click Report. A log (AdwCleaner[s*].txt) will open.

Please include the contents of that file in your reply.
 
Note: Reports will be saved in your system partition, usually at C:\Adwcleaner

I had a problem with the ADwCleaner at the end of the clean process, the program forced a reboot, at which time the desktop came back but I was unable to launch IE.

I did a hard reboot and the AdwCleanerS5.txt opened in notepad.  I also attached AdwCleanerR7.txt which was generated at the same time,

I have also noticed a "trackid" virus on Google Chrome which attached itself to searches .  Please see Capture3.jpg for an example

I uninstalled my MBAM Pemium when directed to do so by another Anti-virus software program.

I have now re-installed it.  The scan it performed upon reinstallation came back clean.

 

I ran FRST again with the new fixlist.txt you supplied.

Well, it looks like the first issue is gone.....at least for now.  I do however have the ?Trackid script/virus running on Chrome.

I do not know if this has been a recent issue or if it has been there all along, as I do not use Chrome and my wife onlypointed it out to me today.

No one has used Chrome before today for several days.

You can install MalwareBytes premium it will work along your Antivirus without problem. Some Antivirus products are playing smart by giving you the ultimatum to uninstall MalwareBytes. Can you try to reinstall your Chrome?
