i have three computers in my house, after having a virus on one of them last saturday and having to do a reboot in recovery i decided to put malwarebytes trial (to start with )on each computer.the laptop which got a ransomeware virus, running windows 8.1 did a scan in about 10 minutes finding one adware virus,my Dell main computer running windows 7 also did a scan in about 10 minutes also finding one adware, now my 11.6 inch Dell laptop also running windows 7 and only used for playing cards in the bedroom while listening to music and light internet did a scan in 9 HOURS producing 20 adware viruses,i have tried it again and stopped it after 1 hour with it going nowhere,it is the filesystem and the hueristic scans what are taking so long to scan, anybody got any idea why these scans should take so long.

Hello and :welcome: :

It's possible that the infection is slowing down the scans.

We can't work on malware diagnostics and removal in this sub-section of the forum.

So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the preliminary steps to expedite the process.
A malware analyst will guide you through the cleanup process.

>>If you have more than one infected computer, please start with one new post in the malware removal section for one system only.

(It creates massive confusion for everyone to try to work on multiple systems at one time.)

Thanks,
