Another topic on remote scanning

Hello All,

I'm having the same pain as other posters on this forum, asking about using the remediation tool to scan remote systems.  I am successfully doing this using psexec, it wasn't too hard to figure out, however, Malwarebytes should release some documentation.  One of the main features touted in this product is the remote scanning ability.

The issue I'm having is with the PUPs.  I saw this article: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/157029-how-to-customize-mbam-rt-default-settings/  and am going to see if I can change those registry keys remotely.  If anyone has a solution to create these keys remotely either all at once using group policy or using psexec please share as it seems we are all asking the same questions about this product.

I would like to see a version of the remediation tool that has a simple command line switch to enable automatic removal of PUPs.

Thanks,

-Alex

Hi Alex, welcome to the forum and thanks for posting.

You can use the built-in "reg" command from a command-prompt. Also PowerShell provides a more flexible way of doing this. Finally if you do some searching around there are some utilities out there such as this one or these ones that will make it easier to manage remote registry manipulation over the network.

As for the command-line switch for automatic removal of PUPs, it's coming. Once we have a beta available we'll announce it here.
